Ambulatory Phlebectomy

AmbulatoryAm.-Phleb-300x281 Phlebectomy is an outpatient procedure that removes those bulging, painful veins and allows patients to resume their normal routines immediately after treatment. The Ambulatory Micro-Phlebectomy procedure is usually performed on larger, superficial veins, but can also be used to treat smaller veins in many patients. Ambulatory Micro-Phlebectomy is a micro-extraction procedure, which allows for the removal of large surface varicosities through very small incisions that need no stitches.

Discomfort following the Ambulatory Micro-Phlebectomy procedure is minimal and can be treated with mild pain relievers. Although you may experience some slight swelling or bruising following the procedure, the use of compression stockings will minimize these effects and speed the healing process. Most patients are not at all uncomfortable and need no pain medication. Patients may stand and walk and return to work on the day following the procedure. Strenuous activity should be limited for one to two weeks.
